About Malo BRIGADE

Malo BRIGADE is a recording & performing artist from Chicago, Illinois. With a unique upbringing in local hip-hop based spaces, Malo was able to craft his writing and performance skills from an early age. Having competed and won multiple Chicago citywide poetry slams (LTAB) and competed in International poetry festivals (BNV) as a teenager, Malo eventually transitioned naturally into his passion for Hip-Hop/Rap music. Through different opportunities, Malo has performed as an associate act for artists including Erykah Badu, Angela Davis, Kanye West, Qwel of Typical Cats, Saul Williams, Halluci Nation, Freddie Gibbs, respectively. Awarded a fully funded Hip-Hop Arts scholarship, he was able to further hone his artistic craft and given opportunities to perform globally touring the United States and United Kingdom. Influences of his span a wide range of artists that include Nas, Mobb Deep, Biggie, Big Pun, Lil Wayne, Outkast, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott and Kanye West.

 

As founder of the #BRIGADE™️, Malo strives to push the music narrative forward and inspire everyone to be their authentic selves. Malo translates to "bad" and his work is defined by finding the silver lining in that "bad." For some, being good is bad, and for others, being bad is good. For all, join the #BRIGADE™️.
